Who We Are
Design Source Media is a tech company that builds WordPress websites for marketing agencies, professional speakers, and small businesses.
We work in a fast-paced remote environment where organization, communication, follow-through, and proactive problem-solving are essential. Our team values people who keep promises, think ahead, help others, keep learning, and take ownership of their work.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking an ambitious, analytical, and tech-forward Accounting Intern—ideally a high-performing student or recent graduate from a top university—to work directly alongside our Executive team. You will assist in managing the financial data architecture across three distinct entities: a digital marketing agency (DSM), a talent agency (DSM Talent), and a tech company (7TI).
This is an executive-track, hands-on internship. You will report directly to C-suite leadership, gain exposure to multi-entity US GAAP accounting, assist with our major system pivot to ERPNext, and learn how to build AI-driven financial automations.
Responsibilities
- Executive Financial Support: Work directly with the President and Strategic CFO to organize divisional financial data, monitor cash flows, and prepare executive review packets.
- Full-Cycle Bookkeeping Support: Assist in categorizing daily transactions, executing bank reconciliations, and organizing Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) across all three entities.
- Financial Systems & Data Architecture: Assist in cleaning up legacy records in Xero/QuickBooks and mapping data architecture for our transition to ERPNext.
- AI-First Automation: Learn to prompt, audit, and manage AI tools and receipt scanners used to automate routine data entries and categorizations.
- Multi-Entity & Intercompany Tracking: Observe and assist with intercompany billing, cross-border USD/PHP transactions, and tracking unit economics per business division.
- Tax & Compliance Preparation: Organize supporting tax documentation and working schedules for US and Philippine regulatory filings.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Educational Background: Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Financial Management, or related degree from a top-tier university.
- Tech-Savvy & Analytical Mindset: Thinks like a "systems engineer"—eager to learn accounting platforms, database structures, and workflow automations rather than doing manual data entry.
- Tool Familiarity: Academic or practical familiarity with cloud accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, Odoo/ERPNext) and generative AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude) is a strong plus.
- Advanced Spreadsheet Skills: Proficient in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas).
- Communication & Shift Readiness: Fluent written and verbal English skills. Fully capable and willing to work a permanent night-shift schedule (9:00 PM to 6:00 AM PHT) in a fully remote environment.
- Workspace Setup: Dedicated, quiet home office with a high-speed fiber internet line, mobile data fallback, and a reliable UPS/power backup setup.
How We Will Help You Succeed
- Direct C-Suite Access: Work directly with the President and Strategic CFO to understand strategic unit economics and high-level decision-making—not just transactional entries.
- Hands-on AI Training: Gain real-world experience building an "AI-first" accounting environment using modern automation pipelines.
- Path to Full-Time: High-performing interns will be fast-tracked for full-time Associate Accountant or Systems Controller positions upon graduation.
